Unmet informational and supportive care needs of patients following cystectomy for bladder cancer based on age, sex, and treatment choices

Unmet needs among patients undergoing treatment for muscle-invasive bladder cancer are assessed. Unmet needs reported at the time of diagnosis, following surgery and during survivorship vary by the patient’s age, sex, and urinary diversion type. Perioperative and survivor needs varied based on the type of urinary diversion. Significant age-related differences in worries about the future for treatment received. Assessing unmet needs based on demographic and clinical characteristics allows for better targeting and tailoring of resources and health care services.
