A proteomic analysis using 2DE and LC-MS/MS is proposed for the study of amoebic gill disease in farmed Atlantic salmon. This is the first sequential study of the gill cellular and mucosal response during AGD at a protein level. Cell cycle regulation, oxidative stress and immunity proteins are identified and their role on AGD pathogenesis discussed.
