Prepared brookite-rutile samples show visible light activity for 4-nitrophenol degradation. N-doping with NH4NO3 results in a 5-fold improvement of 4-nitrophenol and TOC decrease rates. The best doped catalyst (N-content 0.8%w/w) has the lowest amorphous and the highest brookite content. TEM showed very different morphologies of brookite and rutile and crystal boundaries.
