Hydrogen treatment of Tb2Pd2Mg results in the absorption of 8 H/f.u. The H absorption is not reversible. H absorption leads to a structure transition yielding a new structure type. Tb2Pd2Mg is an antiferromagnet (60 K) showing 2 metamagnetic transitions. No magnetic order is visible for the hydride down to 2 K.
