New ρ, u and η measurements of amino acids in aqueous solution of [C6mim][Cl].
Positive Vϕ0 values for amino acids/peptide increases with the increase in temperature.
Magnitude of negative values of κϕ,s decreases with increase in temperature and concentration of [C6mim][Cl].
Decrease in hydration number with [C6mim][Cl] concentration shows interaction between ions.
Large values of Δμ2o⁎ predicts amino acids/peptide as structure-maker.
