Small ruminant species and individuals vary in heat resilience. A means to evaluate heat resilience of sheep and goats would be useful. A daytime heat load index of 95–100 seems appropriate to evaluate resilience. There should be at least 1 week for adaptation to high heat load. Measures should occur during the night and day with different heat loads.
