We examine Paleoproterozoic rocks cropping out in the Neoproterozoic Brasília thrust and fold belt.
Rocks were formed in a Rhyacian orogeny and represent the basement of the sediments of the belt.
There are magmatic arc tonalites of 2.16–2.30 Ga and syn-collisional granites of 2.12–2.17 Ga in the basement.
The terrane where these rocks crop out is part of the present-day São Francisco paleoplate.
