Social network analysis provides insight into collaboration, key to regional ocean governance. SNA was performed on the U.S.'s first regional marine spatial planning initiative. Results show this network is equipped to solve complex boundary-solving problems. However some key constituents are missing within the core collaboration network. MSP can advance regional ocean governance but further research is needed.
