New two-stage sampling inspection plans for hygiene indicators have been proposed. Sampling procedures were validated by using plate count data of milk powder. Sample size reductions of between 20 and 75% have been obtained using the proposed sampling plans. An interactive web-based tool has been built for the design of the new plans.
