Fabrication and characterization of graphite oxide - nanoparticle composite based field effect transistors for non-enzymatic glucose sensor applications

Graphite-oxide and nanoparticle composites were synthesized and used as glucose sensors. Graphite oxide was synthesized from graphite using a modified Hummers method. The nanoparticles were fabricated using sputtering and inert-gas condensation inside an ultra-high vacuum system. The composites were used to fabricate sensor devises that adopt the MOSFET structure. The devices were used for sensing glucose concentration concentrations as low as 1 μM.
