Crustacean species Crangon crangon showed higher risk for V. parahaemolyticus.

Storage and geographic origin influenced V. parahaemolyticus prevalence and levels.

V. parahaemolyticus and Vibrio spp. counts showed good correlation.

Trh gene, T3SS2α and T3SS2β were detected in some V. parahaemolyticus isolates.
