Trace metal concentrations in beach pore water deviate from conservative mixing. S and O isotope ratios of dissolved sulfate indicate a cryptic sulfur cycle. Dissolved reactive Mn may accelerate redox reactions in shallow suboxic pore waters. The subterranean estuary is a source of Fe, Mn, and Mo, but a sink for V, U, and Re. The tidal flat area is more important for trace element budgets than the beach.
