Identification of source contribution to PM2.5 for the entire Guangdong province was conducted by numerical modeling. Super-regional transport, mobile and industry sources are the major contributors to PM2.5 in Guangdong. Industry sources outside the Pearl River Delta (PRD) region have important impacts on PRD. The boundary conditions might account for the over-quantification of super-regional transport.
