Chemical-furnace-assisted combustion synthesis to prepare iron-based superconductors. Chemical furnace increases temperature and facilitates crystal growth, improving homogeneity and crystallinity. FeSe0.5Te0.5 shows anisotropic crystal growth with fast growth in (001) face. FeSe0.5Te0.5 sample shows onset Tc of 13 K.
