DIP2 is essential for the proper axonal bifurcation in the Drosophila mushroom body. DIP2 localizes to the plasma membrane. The AMP-synthetase domains of DIP2 are required for the bifurcation of mushroom body. DIP2 has genetic interactions with the genes related to lipid metabolization.
