SnO2 films exhibiting room temperature ferromagnetism (RTFM) have been prepared on Si (001) by pulsed laser deposition. Growth temperature, oxygen pressure and annealing affect the growth of SnO2 films. Both the concentration and location of the oxygen vacancies play critical roles in the magnetization.
