Four dihalo tin(IV) heteroarylalkenolate compounds are presented. Synthetic approaches through oxidative halogenation and ligand exchange have been exploited. The chloro-, bromo- and iodo-derivative feature an unusual trans-configuration. The structures have been elucidated by spectroscopic and X-ray techniques.
