Three dimensional modeling of heat transfer and bed flow in a conical fluidized bed reactor

Three dimensional numerical simulations on conical fluidized bed combustors were carried out. Both wall-to-bed heat transfer and hydrodynamics were studied. 3D model results agreed with the experimental results better than 2D model. The maximum difference in Δp and h between 2D and 3D were 7% and 8%, respectively.
