Transformation of active K/Ca in co-gasification was quantitatively determined.

Active Ca transformation was promoted but active K transformation was inhibited.

Inhibiting effect was converted to synergistic effect at characteristic conversion.

Higher temperature and lower biomass ratio meant higher characteristic conversion.

Synergy behaviours were related to active K/Ca transformation in co-gasification.
