Polymer-inorganic hybrid membranes containing lithium ion-sieves (HMOs) are explored.

Sulfonated HMOs (SHMOs) are designed to construct dual proton transfer pathways.

Enhanced proton conductivities under hydrated and anhydrous conditions are acquired.

The benefits of polymer brush over polymer layer for HMO sulfonation are discussed.
