DRB1*11 DQA1*0501 DQB1*0301 haploype was found to be protective for MG in Iranian population.

We introduced DRB1*04 DQA1*0301 DQB1*0302 and DRB1*16 DQA1*0102 DQB1*05 as the most important HLA haplotypes for AChR-positive and MuSK-positive MG subgroups, respectively.

We also showed that DRB1*01 DQA1*0101 DQB1*05 is a predisposing haplotype for pure ocular MG.

We found no specific HLA class II (DRB1, DQA1, DQB1) association among double-seronegative MG patients in our study.

DRB1*03 DQA1*0501 DQB1*0201 haplotype (P = 0.024) had negative association with thymomatous MG.
