PEDOT:PSS chain was doped by adding HAuCl4 at various concentrations to solution.

The chemical structure of the PEDOT:PSS chains changes from a benzoid to a quinoid structure as a result of HAuCl4 doping.

These conformational changes increased the conductivity as well as the work function of the PEDOT:PSS electrodes.

The HAuCl4 doping of the PEDOT:PSS significantly improved the device performance.
