A flow-cytometry method for enumeration of live Leptospira in culture is described. This method is well correlated with the Petroff-Hausser standard counting technique. The developed method is linear in a wide range of values. This method is rapid, sensitive and highly reproducible. This method allows enumeration of live Leptospira in highly infected urine or blood.
