TAE as add-on to percutaneous RFA is feasible, safe, and very effective. State-of-the-art embolization materials include tightly-size-calibrated microspheres. MWA, cryoablation and IRE are TA systems beyond RFA. Visible beads rank among the most promising innovative embolization materials. Software-based solutions will be increasingly important for treatment guidance.
