The order effect on online review helpfulness: A social influence perspective

We examine social influence effects on review helpfulness through effect of review order. We identify boundary conditions for the effect of review order. Review order has a negative effect on review helpfulness. The order effect is weaker for more connected or expert reviewers. The order effect is weaker for more negative or recently posted reviews.
