文摘

How herbivores perceive induced plant volatile compounds remains largely unknown.

Responses of the antennae of fall armyworm females to plant extracts were recorded.

Twenty-four compounds were found in the headspace of maize damaged plants.

The antennae of virgin and mated females responded to eleven compounds.

Linalool, TMTT, indole and (Z)-3-hexenyl acetate evoke consistent responses.
