An optimized route for supporting heteropoly acid on beta zeolite is applied. Ultrasound treatment of the composites gives dispersed morphology. Lower heteropoly acid amount induces higher conversion in ethanol dehydration. Acid sites distribution and accessibility for ethanol are essential for catalytic activity.
