This is the first d-threonine aldolase characterized from a Eukaryote. d-Threonine aldolase of Chlamydomonas reinhardtii (CrDTA) was cloned and expressed in Escherichia coli. CrDTA catalyzed cleavage and synthetic reactions of β-hydroxy-d-amino acids.
