ECF sigma factor, SigCH, is involved in heme acquisition mechanism. The sigCH expression was significantly increased in early-log phase. The expression of hmuYR and cdhR was downregulated in sigCH mutant. The SigCH is a direct regulator of hmuYR and cdhR in P. gingivalis.
