Unexpected magnetic properties explained by the homogeneity of mixed ferrites

Cobalt ferrites CoxFe3−xO4 (0 ≤ x ≤ 1, step 0.2) were synthesized with solvothermal route. X ray and electron diffractions have shown limitations for the structural properties for CoxFe3−xO4 samples ( 0 ≤ x ≤ 1) synthesized with solvothermal route. Transmission Electron Microscopy images display spheriodal and quasi-rectangular nanoparticles. Magnetization curves gave exchange coupling behavior, disappeared by heat treatments. Phase transformation, under heat treatment and Raman spectroscopy, occurred, confirming the presence of two phases. In situ micro-Raman spectroscopy, under different laser irradiation, as local probe gave information about these phases.
