SnO2 nanorods grown on graphite as a high-capacity anode material for lithium ion batteries

A novel architecture of SnO2 nanorods grown on graphite has been synthesized by a simple hydrothermal method for lithium ion battery. The as-prepared products were characterized by XRD, FTIR, N2 adsorption/desorption, FESEM and TEM. The electrochemical performances of SnO2/graphite composite were measured by cyclic voltammetry, galvanostatic charge/discharge cycling and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The results show that the SnO2/graphite composite maintains high lithium storage capacity and good cycling stability, indicating its promising potential as a novel anode material for high-performance lithium ion batteries.
