Humic acids represent the majority of organic compounds in the bio-filtrated landfill leachate. Electrocoagulation of the bio-filtrated landfill removed over 65% of COD. After electrocoagulation, humic acids were totally removed. Fulvic acids and hydrophilic compounds were partially removed with 57–60% and 37–46%, respectively. Aluminum and iron showed similar performance for organic compounds removal.
