Oyster's cells volume regulation after hypo-osmotic stress (RVD) has been modeled.
RVD is inhibited after a short term exposure of oysters to diesel oil.
This effect is interpreted as a decreased permeability of cells membranes.
In contrast, the gills Glutathione S-Transferase specific activity is unchanged.
RVD inhibition could be used as a sensitive biomarker for micropollutants.
