Hydrogen pick-up and trapping were investigated for an X70 steel.

HICC and blistering were investigated for different microstructures.

The banded ferrite-pearlite is the most susceptible to HICC and blistering.

Bainitic ferrite did not show any blistering after charging for 24 h.
