Tensile tests were conducted on notched hydrogen saturated samples.

Crack initiation occurs by a H-Enhanced Interface DEcohesion (HEIDE) mechanism.

Crack propagation involves growth and coalescence of small cracks.

Propagation is governed by the characteristics of phases on the crack path.
