Pressurized hot water extraction of Saccharina japonica is proposed.

pH increases and viscosity was decreased as the temperature increases.

Essential amino acids were recovered well at low temperature.

Mineral content showed less content of heavy metals in the hydrolysate.

Mannitol content was found to be very high at 180 °C.
