Oral administration of RJE inhibits UVB-induced wrinkle formation in vivo. Oral administration of RJE inhibits UVB-induced COX-2 and MMP-13 expression in vivo. RJE suppresses UVB-induced COX-2 and MMP-1 expression. RJE suppresses EGFR activity and MAPKK/MAPK signalling pathways. Among the RJE compounds, syringic acid was identified as a novel active component of RJE.
