OSAH is associated with reduced exercise tolerance and autonomic abnormalities. Patients have been treated with CPAP for 2 months. CPAP reduces heart rate variability and increases maximal workload and VO2peak. CPAP reduces sympathetic hyperactivity causing better tolerance to the effort.
