Decreasing the burden of RT for BC entails tailored target volumes, lower doses, hypofractionation and partial breast RT. Nodal RT improves overall survival in N+ and some N0 patients. The indications increase with decreasing axillary surgery. Research in breast cancer includes exploring gene expression profiles to individualise the radiation therapy.
