Saline (salt-pan) mud from the Sečovlje Salina is commonly used for therapeutic treatment. Mineralogical, geochemical and thermophysical properties of healing saline mud were determined. Saline muds from Sečovlje Salina are suitable for therapeutic purposes in form of wraps or poultices. Quality criteria for peloids are necessary for user safety and standardization.
