We investigate chemistry of gas from Taketomi hot spring at non-volcanic front. The gas is mainly composed of methane from thermogenesis of organic matter. Helium rich in 3He is mantle-derived, which is also a heat source. A potential source rock of the hydrocarbons is beneath the Ryukyu limestone. Spring discharges from the limestone, meaning the activity after the Pleistocene.
