Quantification of real thermal, catalytic, and hydrodeoxygenated bio-oils via comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography with mass spectrometry

GC×GC-TOFMS was used for compound identification and quantification in real bio-oil. The approach was applied to real thermal, catalytic and hydrodeoxygenated bio-oils. Quantification of O-containing compounds was performed without any derivatization. The GC×GC-TOFMS method of quantification presented excellent precision and accuracy. Sugars, furans, alcohols, ketones, phenols, and carboxylic acids were quantified.
