Filipendula ulmaria extracts attenuate cisplatin-induced liver and kidney oxidative stress in rats: In vivo investigation and LC-MS analysis

Phenolic constituents of the investigated Filipendula ulmaria extracts was characterized by LC-DAD-MSn analysis. F. ulmaria extracts did not reveal cytotoxic activity in vitro at applied concentrations (IC50 > 50 μg/mL). Co-administration of F. ulmaria extracts decreased serum and tissue markers of cisplatin-induced liver and kidney damage. The oxidative stress and toxic side effects caused by cisplatin could be reduced by the intake of F. ulmaria extracts.
