Fluorescent lifetime imaging microscopy (FLIM) technology can be used for recognizing BRCA mutation carriers.

Cells originated from BRCA2-mutation carriers have lower FLT values compared with BRCA1 mutation carriers and control cells.

The difference in FLT values were observed regardless irradiation.

FLIM method may be more informative in the detection of BRCA2-mutation carriers than BRCA1.
