A numerical investigation and design optimization of impingement cooling system with an array of air jets

Heat transfer and entropy generation of jet impingement cooling system is presented. Local and surface averaged Nusselt number along heat sources are analyzed in detail. Proper orthogonal decomposition is employed to study unsteady thermo-fluid dynamics. Multi-objective Genetic algorithm is utilized to obtain Pareto optimal solution sets. Optimum model for maximum Nusselt number and minimum entropy generation is reported.
