2010–2013 Time-series data show that users spatial distribution echo the distribution of shark attacks. We address the human-shark interaction topic by overlapping shark presence and users presence data. Areas of medium and high level of interaction often correspond to areas historically involved in shark attacks. Shark attack locations are not systematically associated with high shark presence. If mitigation policies are already implemented in some areas, others should also be considered as priority areas.
