Bacterial celluloce (BC) nanofiber membrane was used as pH indicator label.

BC labels were incorporated with red cabbage anthocyanins in two dilutions.

Diluted anthocyanins had no effect on morphological and structural properties of BC.

BC labels containing diluted anthocyanins was more sensitive to pH variations.

BC-diluted anthocyanin label can be used as a visual smart packaging of foods.
