Manila clam and other macrofaunal assemblages were investigated to assess the benthic impacts of bottom aquaculture. Low disturbances were caused by bottom aquaculture of Manila clam according to the results of biotic indices. AMBI and M-AMBI were more suitable to assess disturbances caused by bottom aquaculture than polychaete/amphipod ratios.
