The first Zn-catalyzed tandem Sonogashira cross-coupling-cyclization disclosed. Zn-catalyzed one pot synthesis of benzofurans and indoles in excellent yields. Heterocycles achieved with Et2Zn and N,N′-dimethylethylenediamine. A broad spectrum of functional groups tolerated in the catalysis.
