The cause(s) of rapid increase in the global prevalence of myopia is unclear. Myopia is consistently reported to be more prevalent in urban areas. Urban residents often have limited access to green spaces. Higher greenness exposure was associated with lower spectacles use in children. Our findings require further confirmation by more refined studies.
